This is a truly unique and eye-catching vintage kilim (flatweave) runner, dating back approximately 40 years to the mid-1980s. It is defined by a dramatic, high-contrast "split" design that makes it a piece of functional textile art.
The rug is divided roughly in half by its color palette and design philosophy. The upper section features a deep, saturated black or dark charcoal background. Dominating this dark field is a massive, vibrant central medallion—a serrated diamond or lozenge shape radiating with fiery hues of crimson red, burnt orange, mustard yellow, and a warm brown center. The serrated edges of the motif create a dynamic, vibrating visual effect often seen in traditional tribal flatweaves.
In stark contrast, the lower half of the runner is a minimalist expanse of natural, undyed cream/beige wool. This quiet field is interrupted only by very sparse, tiny geometric motifs scattered randomly across the surface in small pops of red, blue, and yellow embroidery, adding a charming, rustic touch.
As a 40-year-old vintage piece, the wool has softened and gained a lovely patina, showing the authentic character of its age.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
The Deep Clean: Every 2 to 5 years, have the rug professionally "wet-washed" by an Oriental rug specialist.
What to Avoid: Never steam clean or dry clean an Anatolian rug. The heat and chemicals will strip the natural oils from the wool, leaving it brittle and prone to shedding.
